Joint Library Visitor Policy
The Joint Library is a member of The Library Network, serving the World Bank Group and IMF.

The Joint Library (JL) is the largest library in the Joint World Bank-IMF Library Network. The core collection includes materials in the areas of economics, trade, public policy, international and governmental finance, government statistics, development issues, and economic conditions of the countries of the world.
Visitor Procedures and Policies
The JL is open to visitors by appointment each Thursday between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm EDT.
Visitors must register with the Information Desk well in advance of their desired visit by calling 202-623-7054.
Visitors must arrive promptly at 10:00 am to be escorted from the Visitor Screening Tent to the Library.
The Visitor Screening Tent is located just outside the IMF Center at 720 19th Street, N.W., between G and H Streets, N.W.
All visitors to the IMF are required to present a picture ID.
The Library is not open to students. Students should check with their own reference librarian for search assistance and requests for interlibrary loan.
Visitor Guidelines While in the Library
- In keeping with IMF security policy, visitors must display a JL Visitor Badge while in the Library.
- Library material may be used on-site only. No items may be borrowed.
- Photocopying charges are 10 cents per page, payable at the Circulation Desk.
- The JOLIS Library Catalog, is available for your use. Other systems are not available to you due to licensing agreements. The JOLIS Catalog can also be accessed via any Internet connection at the following World Wide Web address: http://jolis.worldbankimflib.org/uhtbin/webcat/.
The JL does not keep internal documents of either the IMF or the World Bank, and we do not distribute or sell publications. Check the following sites for further information and assistance:
